Telecentru is a residential neighbourhood in south-west Chișinău, in the Centru district. It lies on both sides of Hîncești Highway. Its main streets are Miorița, Lech Kaczyński and Sprîncenoaia, while Gheorghe Asachi and Academiei streets run along the edges of the neighbourhood. Trolleybuses and buses connect it to the city centre, and several trolleybus routes terminate on Miorița Street.
The Chișinău TV tower, built in 1958, is located here. The public company Teleradio-Moldova is on Miorița Street, while the Academy of Sciences’ research institutes are on Academiei Street. Telecentru has apartments in multi-apartment buildings, including new developments such as those on Sprîncenoaia Street. The Valea Dicescu private housing area borders the neighbourhood to the north-west.
Telecentru suits those who want to be close to Centru without living on its busiest streets. The terrain is hilly, and Hîncești Highway is congested during peak hours. In the private housing area, the quality of roads and utility networks varies from street to street.
