Worked out from the listings in the catalogue; the figures update themselves.
Chișinău is divided into five sectors: Centru, Botanica, Buiucani, Rîșcani and Ciocana. The municipality of Chișinău is wider than the city itself and takes in suburban towns and villages. That is why property in Chișinău means not only flats within the city limits but also houses with plots in Durlești, Codru, Trușeni, Băcioi and other suburbs.
The historic centre keeps houses from the second half of the XIX and the first half of the XX century, standing next to Soviet-era buildings and new complexes. Soviet blocks of flats dominate the residential districts, with new buildings added among them; the outskirts and the suburbs have more private houses. Roads and utilities in the private sector differ noticeably from street to street, so they are worth checking for a specific address.
Most suburbs are linked to the city by municipal buses, and trolleybuses also run to Durlești, Trușeni, Bubuieci and Stăuceni. For daily trips what matters is not only the distance from the centre but also the way out of the district: the main roads are busy at rush hour.
