About Soroca
Soroca is a district centre in north-eastern Moldova, about 160 km from Chișinău. The city stands on the right bank of the Dniester, which forms the border with Ukraine. Its symbol is Soroca Fortress, founded by Ștefan cel Mare.
Most of the housing consists of one- and two-storey detached houses, found throughout the city. Plots in central neighbourhoods are usually up to 3 ares, while those on the outskirts can be up to 10 ares. Apartment buildings are concentrated in Centru and the Soroca Nouă, FAT and Bujerăuca districts. If you buy a house in Soroca, plan on living in the city itself: intercity services to the capital run daily, but the journey is long.
